All that Jazz!

For our next concert we are delighted to be joined by jazz trio Jonathan Gooing (piano), Michael Bardon (double bass) and Nicholas Honeybone (drum kit) to perform "A Little Jazz Mass" written in 2004 by Bob Chilcott.

Alongside this will be George Shearing's seldom performed "Music to Hear" written in 1985; a selection of texts by Shakespeare set to music in a variety of styles in Shearing's own inimitable jazz style. John Rutter wrote his "Birthday Madrigals" in 1995 in celebration of Shearing's 75th birthday, and these also include settings of Shakespeare and are in a jazzy style.

To complete the programme we have a selection of exciting arrangements of traditional spirituals and three 30s jazz standards by Fats Waller, Cole Porter and Richard Rodgers.

Saturday 26th October 7.30pm at Holy Trinity Millhouses Church.

Refreshments will be available to purchase.

Book tickets online or purchase on the door: £12, Students £6, Under 16 free.
